Writing Tips

TIP #1: Staying in the P.O.V. (point of view) character can be a challenge sometimes, so I find it helpful to ask these questions…
• Who looks where?
• Why do they look?
• What do they see/feel/smell/touch/taste?
• How do they remark on what they they see/feel/smell/touch/taste?
• What emotion do they feel or allow themselves to feel?
• What sensory perceptions are available and activated, and which will have the greatest impact on the narrating character?

TIP #2: THE FOUR CHARACTER CAUSE-EFFECT SEQUENCES IN A SCENE ARE:
1. Action-Reaction
2. Motivation-Reaction
3. Cause-Effect
4. Stimulus-Response
